This painting is a good example of why it pays off to have a supportive wife who also shares the same interests as you! 

As with all artists, I can offer suffer a dry spell of creativity (also known as "Artist's Block") from time to time. When I need to rapidly come up with 5-10 sketches to send off to a band, it can become difficult to think of something original. Especially when it comes to merchandise where it needs to be simple, striking, but also have something "different" about it from everything else on the market. 

This was a case where I was going through Six Feet Under lyrics for inspiration and I had a couple of great ideas, but I just needed a couple more to round everything out and I had nothing! Thankfully, my beautiful wife is also a metal fan and she offered up probably the coolest idea of them all and that idea became this shirt design.
