Behold! The Monolith...

Here's my latest painting for the band, Behold! The Monolith. This was easily one of the most fun paintings I have ever done. It was a wild concept from the band and I just ran with it to the best of my ability. As you can probably guess, I was listening to heavy amounts of Manowar while painting it....

Wow! That's bad ass! I think that is one of my favorites of your recent works.

Every time I look at it, I see something new. I did not initially notice the skeletons at the bottom of the picture. (I have learned to look more than once at your art for 'hidden' things!)

Thanks, Andrew! It's just one more step in trying to nail down that "painted feel" for me. I keep looking at my old work and it's hard to see all the blatant texture overlays on everything, haha. Gotta learn somewhere, though! I'm pretty proud of the fact that literally everything in this piece was a painted stroke and not using any kinds of layer trickery. Always learning! That's my "slogo"! ;)

Dad: Yeah, those skulls were one of those "let's see...I need something here. AH! Bones on metal pikes!" And then it just continues off into the distance.....I like it myself. :D
