Finback is a Transformer that was released in 1989 or so. He was part of the "Pretenders" line where a robot was hidden in an organic shell. Most people consider it the final nail in the coffin for the original Generation 1 line of toys and there aren't too many people that talk of these guys fondly.

That said, I had this guy (still do) and I always thought most of the organic shells could look pretty awesome if they were revisted by artists that actually had a strong love of creature design. If you look at the original toy, he definitely looks like the designer was just "doing his job", if you get my meaning.

I tried to make him look a little more menacing in this sketch.
